Mission Statement

Leah Bell Creative offers a container where art meets community, fostering a sense of belonging and connection and being "part of something bigger". Through the power of story and shared experience I support individuals to honour the reality of their situations, regardless of whether you come from a place of friction, free-fall or uplift. From my understanding of this place, I produce a bespoke piece honouring your experience, with the hope that the work offers a sense of knowing companion who is celebrating, grieving or contented in alignement with you, and processing alongside you as you apply your new meaning and context to the piece.

My mission is to create inspired artwork that speaks to the soul and nods to the shared experiences of all folks everywhere.

Values

There are many things I value as an individual, and I see the value in many principles and ways of being.  Whilst acknowledging the shifting sands of my values in the face of new information, causing them to evolve, some of them are foundational to my way of relating and creating and are not negotiable. I strive for and prioritise the following:

Accessibility

Creativity is not a luxury. I design flexible, inclusive offerings so that meaningful participation in art and community is open to as many folks as possible. The barriers I seek to dismantle span beyond financial hardship into other forms of individual or systemic discrimination or incompatibility.

Integrity

Trust is at the centre of my work. I treat the stories shared with me with discretion, compassion, and respect. I make every effort to do what I say I will do, but if I fall short of expectations  I will take steps to make amends.

Relational Depth

Art is dialogue - either between myself and the subject matter, or between you, me and the subject matter. My work ripens in the space between me and you, a shared process of discovery that honours complexity and contradiction.

Transformation

I believe in the alchemy of creativity: that expression can turn pain into meaning, isolation into belonging, and abstract concepts into familiar understanding.

Rhythms & Cycles

I strive to work with care for the rhythms of people and planet, pacing creation and connection in ways that support long-term wellbeing and integration.

Sustainability

We are stewards of the planet and wardens of future generations. Where possible I will seek renewable or recycled resources for use in my work, and use these resources with consciencious gratitude.
